This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Develop and execute the international growth strategy targeting key countries, customer segments, and commercial channels.
• Enhance B2B and trade revenue through partnerships with retailers, distributors, designers, property associates, marketplaces, and commercial procurement.
• Manage opportunities from inception to completion: conducting research, targeted outreach, developing business cases, negotiating, piloting, launching, and converting revenue.
• Formulate commercial cases that encompass demand, pricing, margins, inventory management, fulfillment, returns, compliance, risk assessment, and implementation strategies.
• Drive proposals, negotiations, pilot agreements, and internal decision-making documents.
• Oversee cross-functional collaboration with Ecommerce, Marketing, Product, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams.
• Establish priorities and ensure accountability among internal stakeholders, agencies, partners, and prospective team members for successful delivery.
• Develop a pipeline, along with revenue and margin forecasts, featuring distinct stages, decision-making gates, and ownership assignments.
• Monitor and report on assumptions, obstacles, risks, performance metrics, and necessary adjustments.
• Produce a comprehensive country and channel plan, validate B2B and trade pipelines, secure signed pilot or commercial agreements, generate new market or channel revenue, and achieve measurable gross margin.
• A minimum of five years of experience in business development, commercial growth, partnerships, trade, channel development, or market expansion.
• Demonstrated success in B2B or trade initiatives, including personally negotiated deals that resulted in revenue generation.
• Experience in scaling eCommerce or consumer products across multiple countries.
• Proven track record in launching or expanding markets, sales channels, distributors, retailers, marketplaces, or trade partnerships.
• Capability to create commercial cases that address revenue, margins, costs, risks, and operational feasibility.
• Strong skills in negotiation, proposal crafting, stakeholder engagement, and communication with executives.
• Practical experience with CRM or pipeline management systems, including the development of reliable pipeline processes and forecasting.
• Proficient in utilizing spreadsheets for commercial planning purposes.
• Solid understanding of cross-border operations, including duties, taxes, landed costs, compliance, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, fulfillment, returns, pricing, margins, forecasts, and launch strategies.
• Clear, direct, and transparent communication skills with proficient working English.
• Availability to align with Australian business hours while based in the Philippines.
• Experience in Australia, the United States, Asia, or Southeast Asia is highly advantageous.
• Background in furniture, home goods, consumer products, retail, wholesale, property, distribution, marketplaces, or trade channels is a significant plus.
• Familiarity with Shopify economics would be a strong advantage.
• Practical application of AI for research, commercial modeling, proposals, and workflow enhancements is an added advantage.
