
Business Development Manager, Industrials – Northeast Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.
• Perform market research and cultivate knowledge throughout the Northeast region to align facility capabilities and capacities with market demands.
• Identify and analyze industrial customers and sub-sectors while gaining insight into market trends, competitors, partners, and pricing structures.
• Maintain and implement a pipeline to identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities.
• Engage with key customer stakeholders to comprehend their requirements and develop solutions utilizing Divert’s offerings.
• Champion the Voice of the Customer within the team and the wider organization.
• Deliver a top-tier experience through business development and onboarding processes.
• Effectively transition customers to the Customer Success team.
• Collaborate with Marketing, RevOps, Customer Success, Product, and Operations teams.
• Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in business development, customer acquisition, and project management.
• 2–4 years of experience in the energy, recycling, food & beverage, and/or transportation sectors.
• A valid driver's license is required for travel.
• Exceptional communication skills with a strong sense of empathy for diverse audience needs.
• Proven success in data analysis within a commercial or business development setting.
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a larger, cross-functional team.
• Proficiency with standard business tools, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in physical operations, such as plant operations or manufacturing.
• Ability to establish customer pipelines, nurture relationships, and close deals effectively.
• Capacity to excel in a high-growth environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated interest in sustainability and/or hands-on industry experience.
• Experience with solution sales of liquid (DAF / SAF sludge) waste, palletized waste, or in physical operations like plant operations or manufacturing.
