This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Lead business development initiatives within the Industrials team.
• Manage substantial business portfolios from market exploration and opportunity recognition to qualification, closure, enablement, and expansion.
• Build market knowledge across the region, aligning facility capabilities and capacity with market demands.
• Identify industrial customers and sub-verticals, gaining insights into market dynamics, competitors, partners, and pricing structures.
• Maintain and execute a pipeline to discover, qualify, and secure new business opportunities.
• Engage with key customer stakeholders, understand their requirements, and develop solutions utilizing Divert’s offerings.
• Champion the Voice of the Customer within the team and the larger organization.
• Ensure a seamless, concierge-level experience throughout the business development and onboarding processes.
• Successfully transition customers to Customer Success.
• Collaborate with Marketing, RevOps, Customer Success, Product, and Operations teams.
• Travel 25–50% annually.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in business development, customer acquisition, and project execution.
• 2–4 years of experience in the energy, recycling, food & beverage, and/or transportation sectors.
• A valid driver's license is required for travel.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong sense of empathy for varying audience needs.
• Proven success in data analysis within a commercial/business development framework.
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency, capable of working independently as well as part of a larger, cross-functional team.
• Proficient with standard business software, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in physical operations, such as plant operations, manufacturing, or similar fields.
• Ability to develop customer pipelines, nurture relationships, and close deals effectively.
• Capacity to excel in a high-growth environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated interest in sustainability and/or practical industry experience.
• Experience with solution sales of liquid (DAF / SAF sludge) waste, palletized waste, or physical operations, such as plant operations, manufacturing, or similar contexts.
