This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Perform market research and develop expertise within the Mid Atlantic Region to align facility capabilities and capacity with market demands.
• Identify industrial clients and sub-sectors while analyzing market trends, competitors, partners, and pricing structures.
• Manage and implement a pipeline to discover, qualify, and secure new business opportunities.
• Engage with key customer stakeholders to comprehend their requirements and devise solutions utilizing Divert’s products and services.
• Champion the Voice of the Customer (VOC) within the team and the wider organization.
• Provide a comprehensive, concierge-level experience throughout the business development and onboarding processes.
• Effectively transition clients to the Customer Success team.
• Work collaboratively with Marketing, RevOps, Customer Success, Product, and Operations teams.
• Willingness to travel 25–50% annually.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in business development, customer acquisition, and project management.
• 2–4 years of experience in the energy, recycling, food & beverage, and/or transportation sectors.
• A valid driver’s license is required for travel purposes.
• Exceptional communication skills with an understanding of diverse audience needs.
• Proven success in data analysis within a commercial or business development framework.
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency, capable of working independently as well as part of a larger, cross-functional team.
• Proficient with standard business software tools, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Residing in the Mid Atlantic Region of the US, preferably near a major airport.
• Experience in physical operations, such as plant operations, manufacturing, or similar fields.
• Proven ability to build customer pipelines, foster relationships, and close sales.
• Ability to succeed in a high-growth environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated passion for sustainability and/or hands-on industry experience.
• Experience in solution sales related to liquid (DAF/SAF sludge) waste, palletized waste, or physical operations, including plant operations or manufacturing.
