This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.
• Lead business development initiatives within Divert’s Industrials team.
• Manage substantial portfolios from market exploration and opportunity detection through qualification, closing, enablement, and expansion.
• Perform market exploration and develop expertise throughout the Northeast region.
• Align facility capabilities and capacity with market demands.
• Chart industrial clients and sub-verticals, while comprehending market dynamics, competitors, partners, and pricing structures.
• Maintain and execute a pipeline for identifying, qualifying, and securing new business opportunities.
• Engage with key customer stakeholders to develop a thorough understanding of their requirements.
• Design solutions that leverage Divert’s offerings.
• Champion the Voice of the Customer within the team and the wider organization.
• Convey market challenges and opportunities effectively.
• Provide a comprehensive concierge-level experience throughout business development and onboarding.
• Ensure successful transitions for customers to Customer Success.
• Work collaboratively with Marketing, RevOps, Customer Success, Product, and Operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in business development, customer acquisition, and project execution.
• 2–4 years of experience in the energy, recycling, food & beverage, and/or transportation sectors.
• A valid driver’s license is necessary for travel.
• Exceptional communication skills with an understanding of diverse audience needs.
• Proven success in data analysis within a commercial or business development framework.
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency, capable of working independently and as part of a larger, cross-functional team.
• Proficient with standard business tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in physical operations, such as plant operations, manufacturing, or similar environments.
• Ability to build customer pipelines, foster relationships, and close deals effectively.
• Capacity to excel in a high-growth environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated interest in sustainability or hands-on industry experience.
• Experience in solution sales related to liquid (DAF/SAF sludge) waste, palletized waste, or physical operations like plant operations and manufacturing.
