This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate and implement growth strategies targeting specific automotive OEMs.
• Recognize and outline decision-making frameworks within OEM entities.
• Build connections with leadership in engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, maintenance, sustainability, and operations.
• Propel lubricant specification and approval initiatives throughout vehicle assembly processes.
• Ensure inclusion in OEM-approved lubricant listings.
• Discover new platform, vehicle program, battery, powertrain, and assembly prospects.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 suppliers.
• Transform authorized OEM specifications into production opportunities with suppliers.
• Collaborate with customer engineering teams to validate and implement lubrication solutions.
• Create organizational charts and devise influence strategies for stakeholder groups.
• Comprehend customer approval procedures, purchasing cycles, and technical qualification standards.
• Position specialty lubricants based on productivity, downtime reduction, energy efficiency, total cost of ownership, component longevity, warranty considerations, and sustainability.
• Organize technical assessments, product trials, testing, and validation initiatives.
• Assist in root-cause investigations and lubrication-related performance enhancements.
• Develop and sustain a pipeline of opportunities.
• Manage lengthy automotive OEM program sales cycles.
• Project development and revenue forecasting.
• Conduct executive-level business reviews with key accounts.
• Coordinate global opportunities with regional and international teams.
• Keep track of automotive manufacturing trends and competitor activities.
• Identify new growth opportunities.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technical Sales, Business, Chemistry, Tribology, or a related discipline.
• Over 7 years of experience in automotive business development, technical sales, or account management.
• Experience in sales to automotive OEMs and Tier suppliers.
• Demonstrated success in navigating intricate manufacturing organizations.
• Familiarity with industrial lubricants, specialty chemicals, metalworking fluids, process chemicals, assembly materials, automation solutions, or similar technologies.
• Preferred expertise in automotive assembly processes, manufacturing engineering, lubrication technology, EV/battery manufacturing, robotics and automation, OEM approval procedures, and IATF 16949 environments.
• Regular domestic travel and occasional international travel, including overnight stays, approximately 50% of the time.
• Capability to visit customer facilities/plants and conduct equipment inspections using necessary personal protective equipment or onsite gear.
• Frequent use of keyboard, personal computer, and/or handheld devices.
• Proficient verbal, written, public speaking, and presentation skills.
