This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Propel profitable growth by expanding into new markets, acquiring new customers, and developing applications within specific composite and molding sectors.
• Discover and secure new business prospects with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), custom molders, and Tier suppliers.
• Substitute conventional engineering materials with thermoset composite alternatives.
• Oversee the commercial elements of application and product development.
• Collaborate with R&D, technical service, operations, supply chain, and product management to convert customer needs into customized sheet molding compound (SMC) solutions.
• Identify, prioritize, and penetrate high-value growth segments such as automotive, recreational vehicles, heavy trucks, infrastructure, electrical enclosures, consumer goods, and construction.
• Seek out and cultivate relationships with OEMs, custom molders, Tier suppliers, and other strategic partners.
• Act as the principal commercial liaison for targeted accounts and new development opportunities.
• Collaborate with R&D to formulate new compounds that meet customer requirements and emerging market trends.
• Set market-segment, account, and revenue objectives for designated territories and opportunities.
• Represent Molding Products at trade exhibitions, industry associations, conferences, and customer gatherings.
• Create and implement segment-focused growth strategies in line with the overall business plan.
• Spearhead technical-commercial sales initiatives for new programs from the first customer interaction to commercialization.
• A bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, business, or a related discipline.
• A technical background is highly preferred.
• Experience with sheet molding compounds (SMC), bulk molding compounds (BMC), or thermoset molding procedures.
• Strong capabilities in business development and strategic hunting.
• At least five years of experience in OEM market development, business development, or technical sales within the composites, thermosets, plastics, specialty materials, or similar sectors.
• Previous experience collaborating with OEMs, Tier suppliers, custom molders, or industrial manufacturers.
• Ability to balance technical application development with commercial and financial goals.
• Proven track record in developing new accounts, penetrating target markets, and driving profitable revenue growth.
• Familiarity with automotive, infrastructure, electrical, industrial, construction, or consumer markets.
• Capability to work in an office setting while traveling to customer and manufacturing locations.
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended durations.
• Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% if required.
