This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Identify, develop, and oversee business opportunities in the US defense and government sectors, with a particular emphasis on unmanned aerial systems and advanced aerospace technologies.
• Establish and nurture relationships with government agencies, defense entities, military stakeholders, prime contractors, strategic partners, and industry participants.
• Formulate and implement business development strategies tailored for the US market.
• Manage opportunities from market engagement and qualification through proposal drafting, negotiation, and contract finalization.
• Identify government programs, tenders, RFIs, RFPs, and procurement opportunities, coordinating responses with internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, legal, finance, and leadership teams to convert customer needs into technical and commercial solutions.
• Represent Destinus at industry events, conferences, customer engagements, demonstrations, and strategic initiatives throughout the United States.
• Forge partnerships with US-based companies and organizations.
• Monitor the US defense landscape, including customer priorities, procurement trends, competitor actions, and emerging prospects.
• Provide pipeline visibility, opportunity evaluations, and commercial insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Assist in negotiations and commercial agreements in alignment with internal approval protocols.
• Travel frequently across the United States and internationally as needed.
• Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, capture management, government relations, or a similar commercial role within the defense, aerospace, unmanned systems, or related technology sectors.
• In-depth understanding of the US defense ecosystem and government procurement processes.
• Experience in cultivating relationships with government, military, defense industry, or prime contractor stakeholders.
• Proven ability to identify opportunities and advance them from initial engagement to concrete commercial results.
• Familiarity with RFIs, RFPs, tenders, proposals, or government contracting procedures.
• Capability to grasp complex technical products and articulate their operational and commercial significance to diverse audiences.
• Strong skills in negotiation, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management.
• A commercial mindset that allows for independent operation and prioritization of opportunities based on strategic importance.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical, commercial, and executive teams within an international organization.
• Professional fluency in English.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, International Relations, Aerospace, Defense Studies, or a related discipline. Relevant professional experience may also be taken into account.
• Established relationships within the US defense and aerospace ecosystem are highly regarded.
