This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Support special projects and assignments as required.
• Develop and implement territory plans along with efficient travel strategies.
• Position BHHC as the preferred market for agents and targeted demographics.
• Identify new agency appointments, arrange prospect meetings, explore book transfer opportunities, and seek additional agency production sources.
• Track agency growth and profitability while formulating profit enhancement and growth strategies.
• Oversee agency partnerships, appointments, terminations, renewal strategy discussions, and agency production targets.
• Conduct face-to-face agency visits and engage in prospect meetings, claims assessments, meet-and-greet sessions, and stewardship meetings.
• Coordinate strategic co-travel with Underwriting, Client Services, and Loss Control teams when suitable.
• Educate agents on BHHC’s value proposition, target markets, acquisition opportunities, territory objectives, and service model.
• Act as a resource for colleagues and brokers; senior-level personnel may provide mentorship to other Business Development Managers.
• Attend weekly underwriting meetings and assist in initiatives to secure large accounts and explore new opportunities.
• Collect, analyze, and assess competitor information along with territory opportunities.
• Create action plans based on competitor insights and contribute to Agency Marketing Reviews.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Underwriting, and IT to enhance templates, systems, and product offerings.
• Ensure accuracy in Producer Profiles, Business Plans, Agency Files, Bravo contacts, and business activity reports.
• Maintain President’s Circle information for assigned agencies and utilize the program for acquiring new business and renewals.
• Participate in both internal and external insurance committees, take part in approved charitable events, attend insurance conferences, and broaden expertise in workers compensation and insurance.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution is mandatory.
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the workers compensation insurance sector (Mid-Level), and at least seven (7) years for Senior-Level, is essential, preferably in a Marketing or Underwriting capacity.
• Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
• Able to effectively present information to management and public audiences.
• Skilled in developing, implementing, and communicating company programs, new business requirements, and agency action plans.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Quick to learn proprietary and third-party software applications.
• Service-oriented.
• Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
• Capable of fostering and maintaining robust collaborative relationships.
• Demonstrates sound and accurate judgment and can articulate and justify decisions effectively.
• Able to plan and prioritize work activities, utilizing time efficiently.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship for employment visa status.
