This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Propel revenue growth and foster substantial new business development.
• Attain gross margin objectives as a proportion of sales.
• Employ customer-focused selling techniques and tools, such as scorecards, business reviews, EVE tools, prospecting, sales funnels, cross-selling, and CRM management.
• Cultivate account relationships, identify opportunities, and capture specifications for products and services at key accounts.
• Set, monitor, and achieve new business targets within the designated territory.
• Create contact matrices and forge relationships with key decision-makers and project facilitators.
• Engage in prospecting and initiate cold calls.
• Develop, implement, and oversee sales strategies, budgets, and expense plans.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and value propositions.
• Formulate account development plans and network resources across customer and Avient organizations.
• Achieve planned outcomes (AOP).
• Comprehend industry players, applications, requirements, trends, needs, and Avient’s market positioning.
• Become an expert in the industry and product offerings, leveraging successes throughout the sector.
• Collaborate with regional sales and technical teams to drive profitable growth through solution-based selling.
• Align customer business strategies with Avient’s capabilities.
• Monitor competitive landscape and devise plans to mitigate barriers.
• Execute Avient’s pricing, market strategies, and business practices.
• Engage in strategy formulation, business positioning, offer development, target-market identification, and commercial strategy.
• Set performance standards, goals, and objectives; assess and provide feedback.
• Craft written account plans with metrics outlining annual sales potential.
• Manage expenses and report promptly.
• Oversee strategic relationships, nurture new alliances, and track competitive activity.
• Function as an individual contributor responsible for sales revenue within the assigned territory.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or account management within the composites, plastics, advanced materials, or related manufacturing sectors.
• Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and meeting sales goals.
• Experience in developing and managing strategic customer relationships at various organizational levels.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing complex customer projects from opportunity identification to commercialization.
• Strong consultative selling, negotiation, forecasting, and business planning abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Strong customer-focused selling and relationship-building skills.
• Capacity to influence and communicate effectively with customers, peers, and senior leadership.
• Strategic thinking, robust business acumen, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and achieve results.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation capabilities.
• Experience with thermoplastic and thermoset composite products is preferred.
• Experience in the RV industry is advantageous.
