This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.
• Take ownership of the market.
• Spearhead the complete acquisition process within the territory, focusing on high-value Middle clients through strategic, consultative selling techniques.
• Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with CEOs, CFOs, and financial leaders.
• Establish American Express as the preferred partner for client growth and operational efficiency.
• Utilize market intelligence, professional networks, and industry insights to pinpoint, cultivate, and convert new business opportunities.
• Maintain a robust in-market presence, with travel requirements of 25–50%.
• Engage in face-to-face client meetings, prospecting initiatives, and relationship management across the territory.
• Collaborate with prospects and internal stakeholders to create and execute innovative deal structures.
• Work alongside Global Commercial Services and Regional Centralized Client Management teams to enhance B2B coverage, drive charge volume, and boost Welcomed Acceptance.
• Proven history of conceptualizing, structuring, selling, and executing creative, innovative deals.
• Ensures adherence to proper business processes, conduct, compliance controls, and regulations.
• Demonstrated capability to cultivate relationships and achieve consensus with key internal stakeholders, including pricing, legal, card issuers, risk management, and other internal partners.
• Strong financial acumen.
• Exceptional financial and analytical skills used to prepare and present quantitative analyses to prospects.
• Proficient in primary and secondary account/industry research.
• Proven ability to leverage professional networks and third-party sources to gain a deep understanding of prospect needs, anticipated objections, and potential leverage points.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong executive presence.
• Robust negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to build rapport and earn credibility with prospects.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and directions.
• Bachelor's degree and over 5 years of successful outside sales experience.
• Proficiency in Salesforce.com is a plus.
• Candidate must reside in the specified territory.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Motor vehicle records check mandatory for successful candidates.
• Disclosure of all moving violations within the past 3 years required during the application process.
• Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required; visa sponsorship will not be available.
