This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Identify and engage potential biopharma customers.
• Meet with prospective clients to comprehend their scientific research and determine how Discovery can provide value.
• Participate in networking events, conferences, trade shows, and seminars as necessary.
• Collaborate with scientific subject matter experts (SMEs) to secure sales contracts.
• Develop and refine the business development strategy for the designated territory.
• Create, propose, and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual plans for the territory.
• Drive new business through regular customer visits and extensive networking efforts.
• Proactively manage a pipeline of 100 opportunities.
• Maintain updated pipeline information and record call notes from field activities.
• Engage with executive stakeholders across operations, marketing, SMEs, and project management.
• Work in partnership with the assigned Project Manager to achieve territory objectives and ensure customer success.
• Acquire and sustain in-depth product knowledge.
• Employ a consultative sales approach and recommend solutions tailored to prospective clients' needs.
• Keep accurate CRM contact and account information.
• Exhibit strategic market awareness to distinguish the Discovery brand.
• Uphold the confidentiality of personal information of patients, colleagues, and other individuals.
• BSc, MSc, or PhD in a life science is preferred.
• At least five (5) years of field-based sales experience in Life Sciences, CDMO, or Biotech targeting biopharma clients.
• Required experience in human biospecimens OR sales related to cell and gene therapy.
• Demonstrated success in achieving 100% of quota.
• Ability to engage with clients, actively listen to their needs, and translate those into opportunities.
• Capacity to develop and maintain relationships with clients and potential clients.
• Team-oriented mindset and enthusiasm for achieving the Commercial Team and company-wide objectives.
• Strong attention to detail and outstanding organizational abilities.
• Aptitude for prioritizing multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Docs.
• Experience with Salesforce.com is desirable but not mandatory.
• Must reside in the greater Boston, MA area.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.
