Business Banking – Portfolio Manager I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee a designated portfolio of Small Business and/or Business Banking loans

• Ensure that credit structures are suitable and adhere to Bank Credit Policy

• Conduct regular evaluations of borrower performance, assessing repayment capacity, leverage, and critical risk factors

• Develop documented recommendations and identify early warning indicators

• Address issues and propose modifications, renewals, or restructuring

• Collaborate with SBCs and Relationship Managers to offer credit expertise and support business growth for companies with revenues up to $10MM

• Engage with borrowers, attorneys, accountants, and external advisors to confirm financial performance and resolve portfolio challenges

• Work alongside Credit Officers and senior management on credit decisions

• Monitor financial statements, tax returns, borrowing base certificates, guarantor information, and covenant documentation

• Supervise financial covenants, loan terms, portfolio risk trends, and exceptions

• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and reduce the bank's risk exposure

• Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as required

• Complete mandatory compliance training and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations

• Utilize independent judgment and discretion to make decisions and analyze and resolve issues

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Business, Finance, or a related discipline

• 2+ years of experience in credit analysis, portfolio management, or commercial/consumer lending

• Strong understanding of financial statements and credit analysis methodologies

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and financial research tools

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Effective organizational skills with a keen attention to detail

• Customer-focused, self-driven, entrepreneurial, and innovative mindset

• Ability to foster and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders

• Willingness to travel as necessary

• Moderate physical demands and stamina, including standing, sitting, walking, driving, or occasional lifting
