Business Analyst / Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the current solution by examining Java/Spring code, Oracle schemas, PL/SQL, configuration files, and data samples.

• Reverse-engineer business rules, validations, message processing, and exceptional scenarios.

• Document current manual and semi-automated operational workflows through interviews, shadowing, and reviewing relevant artifacts.

• Identify operational challenges, workaround strategies, and associated risks.

• Create As-Is documentation, which includes process maps, integration and data-flow diagrams, catalogs of business rules, and gap analyses.

• Design To-Be processes for the upgraded platform, incorporating exception management, operational monitoring, and Databricks-enabled reporting and analytical use cases.

• Define portals and operational tools, detailing user roles, journeys, screen specifications, wireframes, and necessary data and APIs.

• Collaborate with architects and engineers to specify business rules, data mappings, and integration behaviors.

• Determine the scope for migration, parallel-run and cutover scenarios, fallback plans, and business acceptance criteria.

• Manage and prioritize the product backlog, which includes epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and trade-offs regarding delivery-plan scope.

• Facilitate workshops and serve as the primary functional liaison for business owners, operations teams, and IT stakeholders.

• Ensure that availability, performance, auditability, and data protection requirements are integrated into processes and portal designs.

• Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validate delivered functionality, and prepare process documentation and user training materials prior to go-live.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4+ years of commercial experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Systems Analyst, preferably in legacy modernization, migration, or integration projects.

• Demonstrated experience in As-Is / To-Be analysis.

• Proficient in reading code, particularly Java / Spring.

• Competent in writing SQL queries using Oracle and PostgreSQL.

• Capable of understanding existing logic, profiling data, and validating assumptions.

• Strong skills in process modeling, including BPMN, swimlanes, data-flow, and integration diagrams.

• Experience in documenting business rules and data mappings.

• Familiarity with defining portals or internal tools, including user roles, user journeys, wireframes, and functional specifications.

• Proficient with wireframing tools such as Figma or Miro.

• Good understanding of contemporary cloud architectures, preferably Azure.

• Knowledge of integrations and REST APIs.

• Familiarity with data platforms such as Databricks.

• Practical experience in backlog management using Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.

• Comfortable working on business-critical operational systems.

• Experience utilizing AI assistants for analysis, documentation, and code understanding.

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills in English at a C1 level.

• Ability to lead workshops involving engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

• Fluency in both English and Polish, written and spoken.

• Eligibility to work in the EU.

• Preferred: Experience with complex business-critical operational systems, database migration projects, and CBAP or PSPO certification.
