Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee business analysis efforts for healthcare interoperability and digital health projects.

• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements.

• Examine and document data mappings between source systems and target solutions.

• Engage with healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 FHIR.

• Collaborate with business, clinical, technical, vendor, and other stakeholders.

• Lead requirements-gathering sessions, workshops, meetings, and collaborative working sessions.

• Record decisions, action items, and outcomes.

• Analyze current-state and future-state business processes.

• Identify process gaps, opportunities, and the implications of proposed changes.

• Resolve and coordinate the troubleshooting of integration, interoperability, data exchange, and business process issues.

• Create business process models, workflows, use cases, business rules, metrics, and KPIs.

• Prepare documentation, presentations, reports, and briefings for senior leadership.

• Develop testing strategies, plans, and cases.

• Coordinate and support system, integration, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Assist in QA, implementation, deployment, and go-live activities.

• Aid in technology evaluation, procurement, and implementation.

• Support organizational change management and stakeholder impact assessments.

• Monitor risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation efforts.

• Provide leadership and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.

• Manage multiple concurrent initiatives and adapt to changing priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of Business Analyst experience in a healthcare environment.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in data integration or interoperability projects.

• Proficiency with HL7 v2.

• Familiarity with HL7 FHIR.

• In-depth knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and protocols.

• Experience in data mapping between healthcare systems.

• Background in healthcare integration/interoperability projects.

• Experience with digital health initiatives.

• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.

• Proven ability to define business, functional, and technical requirements.

• Experience with system integration and data exchange.

• Expertise in business process analysis and process improvement.

• Ability to facilitate stakeholder workshops and gather requirements effectively.

• Experience working in large, complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

• Experience in developing testing strategies, plans, and cases.

• Proficiency in system, integration, and UAT testing.

• Change management experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
