This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Collect, analyze, and document business requirements for applications built on Java.
• Convert business needs into functional specifications, system design documents, and user stories.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Establish project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Propel the development of software solutions, ensuring alignment between business requirements and technical implementation.
• Collaborate with IT team members on both national and international levels to address technical or functional solutions.
• Create test plans, scenarios, and scripts to assess application functionality and performance.
• Partner with QA teams to pinpoint and resolve defects.
• Develop and maintain business requirements, technical specifications, user manuals, and release notes.
• Oversee release management, deployment planning, operational coordination, and post-release support.
• Cultivate relationships with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors.
• Recognize opportunities for innovation and process optimization.
• Advise senior management on issues impacting the department or its security.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, work instructions, and legal/regulatory requirements.
• Follow ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Good Distribution Practice standards.
• Complete necessary training and maintain competency in the role.
• Keep accurate, complete, and timely records.
• Report deviations, incidents, non-conformances, environmental incidents, and other concerns.
• Support effective operations and continuous improvement of company processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external audits.
• Take proactive measures to prevent errors, product quality issues, environmental impacts, and risks.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technical setting, especially in Java application development.
• Comprehensive understanding of database concepts and experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience in leading and influencing cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.
• Expertise in requirements elicitation, documentation, and management using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments, including command line navigation and basic scripting, is preferred.
• Knowledge of development frameworks and methodologies like Scrum and Agile.
• Proficiency in version control systems such as Git and platforms like GitLab and Jira.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
• Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) and/or project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is advantageous.
