Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Act as the main reviewer for incoming international deal/order requests, assessing export and shipment eligibility.

• Collaborate with Sales, Vendor Operations, and Purchasing to collect information regarding destination, customer, end-use, product, and OEM/vendor details.

• Monitor deal requests while maintaining status and audit records.

• Evaluate OEM/manufacturer agreements to verify shipment authorization from the U.S. to various destination countries.

• Identify OEM geographic restrictions, distributor/territory limitations, and necessary licensing requirements.

• Keep reference documentation on OEM shipping authorizations updated.

• Screen countries, customers, and individuals against restricted/denied party and sanctions lists.

• Investigate potential matches and escalate true matches or ambiguous findings.

• Record screening results for audit and compliance purposes.

• Assess ECCN, HTS, CCATS, and country-of-origin data for export eligibility under EAR/ITAR.

• Identify requirements for export licenses, license exceptions, or additional authorizations and route cases to trade compliance/legal teams.

• Escalate discrepancies between vendor classifications and independently verified classifications.

• Review freight forwarder commercial invoices to ensure accurate export details.

• Maintain documentation that is audit-ready and generate periodic compliance reports.

• Suggest and implement process enhancements, checklists, and tools.

• Assist in the development of compliance reference materials, training content, and policy documentation.

• Collaborate with international partners to enhance global deal capabilities.

• Align quotes and pricing with international partners.

• Educate Account Executives on the Cross Border Program, associated timelines, and necessary documentation.

• Serve as a resource for inquiries regarding cross-border deals and set expectations throughout the sales cycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in export compliance, international trade, global logistics, or a similar analytical/compliance role.

• Proficient understanding of U.S. export control regulations (EAR, ITAR) and economic sanctions programs (OFAC).

• Familiarity with ECCN, HTS classification, and CCATS documentation.

• Experience in screening transactions against restricted/denied party lists.

• Strong research and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Capacity to interpret contract/agreement language, including OEM/distribution agreements, to ascertain shipping authorization.

• Excellent written communication skills for documenting findings and escalations.

• Proficient with ERP/CRM systems like NetSuite and Salesforce, along with standard office/productivity tools.

• Prior experience in a technology VAR, distributor, or OEM manufacturer is preferred.

• Familiarity with distributor systems such as TD SYNNEX, Ingram Micro, Jenne, or Carahsoft is preferred.

• Experience with trade compliance screening software/tools is preferred.

• Export compliance certification such as CUSECO/CUSECP is advantageous.

• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is a plus.
