Business Analyst – Advanced

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Assess the business context, key drivers, and anticipated outcomes to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and stakeholder expectations.

• Gather, validate, and document business requirements utilizing structured methodologies.

• Analyze current and future business models to identify value streams, capabilities, and operational implications.

• Map and evaluate existing processes to pinpoint inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.

• Create visual representations of workflows using standard notations.

• Compare current states with desired outcomes to identify capability gaps and potential solutions.

• Transform business requirements into functional specifications.

• Identify, evaluate, and document risks alongside mitigation strategies.

• Prepare and maintain both functional and technical documentation.

• Develop Business Requirements Documents, Functional Specifications, and User Stories with defined acceptance criteria.

• Define and manage acceptance criteria; assist in test case design and user acceptance testing.

• Maintain traceability of requirements and manage change requests.

• Document non-functional requirements in conjunction with functional requirements.

• Facilitate communication between stakeholders, developers, and testers.

• Analyze system integrations, including REST APIs, message-based interactions, and data mapping.

• Conduct impact analysis, evaluate change requests, manage and refine the product backlog, and break down requirements into prioritized user stories.

⛳️ Requirements

• EU citizenship is mandatory.

• Strong understanding of complex information systems and the software development lifecycle.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, and iterative software delivery practices.

• Knowledge of requirements analysis and functional decomposition techniques, such as functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Experience in requirements and product backlog management using Jira, including the prioritization and refinement of user stories.

• Proficient in Confluence and SharePoint.

• Understanding of business process modeling using BPMN and tools like Enterprise Architect.

• Knowledge of procurement management workflows and related financial and contractual business rules.

• Experience in system-to-system integrations, including REST APIs and message-based interactions.

• Proficiency in data mapping, data modeling, and validating cross-system workflows.

• Experience in defining business rules and validation rules for financial and contractual operations.

• Expertise in impact analysis and evaluating change requests across interconnected information systems.

• Knowledge of SQL for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting application issues.

• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman and SoapUI.

• Understanding of Java-based enterprise applications and microservice architectures.

• Experience in preparing and maintaining functional and technical documentation in line with enterprise architecture and governance standards.

• Experience in supporting functional and integration testing, collaborating with product owners, architects, developers, and testers.
