Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.

• Oversee and sustain billing procedures effectively.

• Confirm the daily completion of run reports and produce a 24-hour summary for the manager.

• Verify and gather patient demographics, personal insurance details, and necessary documentation.

• Input required claim information into the billing system within 72 hours post-service.

• Identify the responsible party for ambulance transports and bill in accordance with payer guidelines.

• Review the aging report on a monthly basis and follow up on claims, reporting the results to the manager.

• Keep the manager updated regarding insurance denials, patient accounts, and patient grievances.

• Accept and apply payments for services; ensure daily reconciliation.

• Establish payment arrangements and assess calls and financial assistance forms for accurate billing.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• An Associate’s degree is preferred.

• Strong proficiency in both written and verbal communication.

• Ability to collaborate as part of a team as well as work independently.

• Attention to detail when following up on issues.

• Excellent organizational abilities, demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and adaptability.

• Capacity to multitask amidst frequent interruptions while completing tasks punctually.

• Must be able to sit for extended periods.

• Must possess good hearing abilities.

• Must be fluent in speaking, writing, and understanding English.

• Strict compliance with HIPAA standards is essential.

• Must adhere to federal, state, and local regulations.
