This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Ensure that invoicing documents adhere to funder contract standards, company policies, US Government FAR, CAS, and 2 CFR 200 regulations, as well as funder expectations.
• Analyze and interpret contractual billing terms, applying necessary requirements and timelines.
• Conduct intermediate-level billing activities for CPFF, T&M, and Fixed Price projects for various clients.
• Generate bills, reconcile invoices, and execute NICRA rate adjustments using the financial billing system.
• Assess incurred costs to identify billable expenses and required supporting documentation.
• Detect and escalate invoice calculation discrepancies and billing/payment issues, providing support or leading issue resolution efforts.
• Reconcile project expenses against billed amounts and maintain organized billing records.
• Create reports in accordance with financial reporting schedules.
• Reconcile documentation required by funders with system-generated invoices.
• Develop custom reports, maintain financial filing systems, and upload invoices to shared storage solutions.
• Submit invoices promptly and accurately to funders or through online customer portals.
• Perform monthly reconciliations that analyze project and billing costs, providing explanations for unbilled amounts.
• Work collaboratively with program staff and external clients to ensure invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant.
• Engage in special research and analytical projects related to Contract Billing, AR & Revenue Recognition.
• Undertake administrative support tasks and other assigned responsibilities.
• Report directly to a Manager.
• Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, billing, or a related area.
• Familiarity with billing processes and knowledge of work breakdown structures.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and data entry/automated accounting systems.
• Previous experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
• Knowledge of US Government FAR, CAS, and 2 CFR 200 regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, prioritize effectively, and manage independent tasks under pressure.
• Competence in reading contractual documents and interpreting financial billing, funding, and reporting rules and regulations.
• Capacity to exercise sound judgment and discretion in confidential matters.
• Demonstrated ethical conduct and decision-making skills.
• Must be an independent worker who consistently meets strict deadlines.
• Capability to spend extended hours in front of a computer screen and perform repetitive keyboard tasks.
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift or move items up to 5 lbs.
