Bilingual Senior Regional Media Advocacy Manager, English & Spanish

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Direct media advocacy initiatives for a designated region in both English and Spanish

• Contribute to campaign strategizing and execute tactics that bolster policy and revenue objectives

• Create targeted media lists and cultivate relationships with the Capitol press corps, health journalists, and various news outlets

• Compose talking points, fact sheets, press releases/advisories, op-eds, letters to the editor, speeches, presentations, FAQs, and other media-related materials

• Formulate and execute strategic media advocacy plans for local, state, and federal policy initiatives

• Assist in planning for ballot and electoral campaigns

• Craft messaging tailored to the political landscape and legislative activities

• Organize and oversee press conferences, media events, and editorial board meetings

• Develop and sustain press relationships; proactively engage with reporters and address media inquiries

• Monitor and report on media outcomes and trends

• Collaborate with ACS Marketing & Communications staff and ACS CAN media advocacy team

• Oversee media activities that support ACS CAN fundraising efforts

• Conduct media training sessions for volunteers and staff

• Identify, evaluate, and train staff and volunteer spokespersons

• Represent ACS CAN within coalitions for key campaigns

• Enhance ACS CAN's visibility and awareness of its legislative and voter education initiatives through media outreach

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree is mandatory

• 2–3 years of experience in journalism, public relations, and/or legislative communications

• Proficiency in Spanish is required

• Knowledge of the legislative and/or political processes

• Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills

• Capability to work autonomously with minimal guidance as well as collaboratively as a team member or leader

• Proven ability to handle fast-paced, time-sensitive issues with both internal and external stakeholders

• Capacity to complete tasks efficiently and accurately within deadlines

• Proficient in utilizing available technology to fulfill job responsibilities

• Self-motivated and innovative in generating ideas and messaging

• Skilled at working independently in a remote environment

• Some overnight travel for meetings may be necessary

• Limited lifting for media event setup might be required
