This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls to schedule, reschedule, or cancel patient appointments across various specialties.
• Accurately capture and verify comprehensive patient demographic and insurance information.
• Conduct basic real-time insurance eligibility checks.
• Inform patients about copays, outstanding balances, referral needs, and prior authorization requirements.
• Adhere to provider-specific scheduling templates, visit-type protocols, and clinical guidelines.
• Make outbound calls to remind patients and follow up on missed appointments and no-shows.
• Oversee recall waitlists to ensure provider calendars remain full.
• Address patient inquiries and escalate complex issues as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, patient privacy laws, and IKS operational standards.
• Achieve or exceed performance metrics related to call handling time, scheduling accuracy, quality assurance, and attendance.
• High school diploma or equivalent is a must.
• Bilingual proficiency is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare contact center, medical scheduling, or patient access position.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, as well as familiarity with Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid insurance types and basic RCM concepts.
• Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) scheduling software.
• Excellent phone etiquette coupled with active listening skills.
• A compassionate approach towards patient care.
• High level of accuracy in patient registration and insurance data entry.
• Capability to manage anxious or frustrated patients with professionalism and composure.
• Proficiency in navigating multiple software applications simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong self-management abilities in a remote, high-volume call center environment.
