This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Professionally handle incoming patient calls in both English and Spanish.
• Provide front-office assistance and address general inquiries from patients.
• Appropriately direct clinical inquiries and requests related to providers.
• Conduct outbound follow-up calls and manage communications, including messages and faxes.
• Schedule, reschedule, cancel, and confirm patient appointments efficiently.
• Dispatch appointment reminders and organize appointments according to provider availability.
• Follow up on missed appointments and ensure appointment schedules are accurate.
• Register new patients and gather demographic data.
• Distribute registration and intake forms and follow up on any incomplete documentation.
• Update and keep patient information current in EMR/EHR systems.
• Ensure the completeness and currency of patient records and documentation.
• Uphold strict confidentiality regarding patient information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, documenting insurance details accurately.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to insurance and collaborate with billing personnel.
• Keep front-office records and documentation organized.
• Deliver welcoming, professional, and empathetic service to patients.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and internal team members.
• Operate independently with minimal supervision while managing high-volume administrative requests.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English and Spanish.
• Previous experience in a Medical Receptionist role.
• Background in a medical practice, clinic, hospital, or outpatient healthcare environment.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
• Professional and confident demeanor on the phone.
• Strong customer service aptitude.
• Experience in scheduling appointments and registering patients.
• High level of computer literacy with the ability to learn new healthcare systems.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
• Access to a reliable computer or laptop.
• Stable high-speed internet connection is necessary.
• Professional headset with microphone required.
• A quiet, distraction-free home office setup is essential.
• Ability to work within the designated U.S. time zone.
• Preferred: experience in support roles within U.S.-based medical practices.
• Preferred: familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Tebra, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Practice Fusion, Epic, SimplePractice, or similar platforms.
• Preferred: experience in insurance eligibility verification.
• Preferred: experience managing high-volume inbound and outbound patient calls.
• Preferred: prior remote work experience in support of U.S. time zones.
