This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Oversee and maintain a designated portfolio of public sector clients.
• Act as a long-term strategic partner and primary point of accountability for clients.
• Direct the implementation of benefits, ensure compliance alignment, manage renewals, and shape Open Enrollment strategies.
• Establish implementation strategies, timelines, and success metrics in collaboration with clients.
• Facilitate implementation kickoffs and guide decision-making discussions.
• Manage relationships with carriers and vendors, ensuring service delivery aligns with performance standards and contractual obligations.
• Align benefits solutions with the objectives of clients.
• Create and implement client wellness strategies in partnership with wellness providers.
• Identify potential client risks, dependencies, and obstacles, adjusting plans proactively.
• Serve as a trusted advisor by providing clear and actionable guidance.
• Address escalated issues that impact trust, timing, employee experience, or outcomes.
• Sustain client relationships through proactive communication, accountability, and effective follow-through.
• Comprehensive knowledge of employee benefits programs, encompassing group medical, dental, vision, pharmacy management, life, disability, and workplace benefits.
• Familiarity with public sector benefits environments, including government entities, municipalities, law enforcement agencies, special taxing districts, and school districts.
• Understanding of benefits compliance and regulatory frameworks, such as ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
• Experience in planning and executing Open Enrollment.
• Awareness of carrier and vendor operations, service models, and performance benchmarks.
• Knowledge of public sector governance, multifaceted decision-making, and procurement considerations.
• Strong skills in client relationship management.
• Proficient in strategic planning and execution.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Competent in facilitating decision-making discussions with client leadership and internal teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Risk Management, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in employee benefits account management, benefits consulting, brokerage, or a related client-facing role.
• Prior experience in managing a portfolio of clients, demonstrating accountability for client retention and relationship development.
• Experience with public sector clients is preferred.
• Active Life & Health Insurance license, or the ability to obtain one within the first 90 days.
• Advanced coursework or continuing education in employee benefits, compliance, or public sector administration is advantageous.
• Professional designations such as CEBS, PHR/SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP are considered a plus.
