This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in DLB’s essential projects that emphasize building automation systems, power management systems, controls integration, and smart building solutions.
• Provide technical and project leadership for the planning and design of BAS/PMS and integrated control systems.
• Develop and uphold DLB standards and specifications for controls, BAS, and EPMS.
• Supervise subconsultant scopes of work, Statements of Objectives, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Evaluate subconsultant deliverables for completeness, accuracy, project alignment, compliance with codes and regulations, and adherence to DLB QA/QC standards.
• Collaborate with project teams and external partners to ensure compliance with scope, quality, and timely delivery.
• Create and manage design drawings, sequences of operations, and specifications.
• Assist with engineering drawings utilizing AutoCAD and Revit, including floor plans, system architecture diagrams, point-to-point wiring diagrams, and control panel diagrams.
• Coordinate BAS-related elements with MEP trades.
• Recognize potential scope changes and assist in minimizing cost and schedule impacts.
• Manage project deliverables when not acting as the lead design engineer.
• Provide training, guidance, and support for the implementation and compliance of standards.
• Work with outsource partners to ensure compliance with standards and training.
• Manage and review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, punch lists, and closeout documents.
• Assist with onsite BAS engineering audits, feasibility studies, and retrofit surveys.
• Prepare and oversee project progress reports and departmental reports.
• Handle project contract administration.
• Utilize AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency, reduce manual work, and uphold high-quality output.
• Identify process improvements and support the adoption of emerging technologies.
• Coordinate engineering and production staff, serving as the technical lead or project point of contact.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• B.A./B.S. degree in Engineering, construction, or related fields.
• At least 8 years of experience in BAS controls systems engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of open-source protocols, including BACnet, Modbus, and SNMP.
• Familiarity with IoT and smart building solutions.
• Understanding of typical data center control redundancy strategies.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in the construction of mission-critical or commercial buildings.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Capability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows and optimize operational processes.
• Ability to thrive in a remote environment through effective communication, organization, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness.
• Capacity to identify and analyze complex problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
• Adherence to company and site safety requirements.
• Skill in analyzing and preparing documents, reports, and correspondence.
• Proficient in effectively communicating technical and non-technical information orally and in writing.
• Ability to communicate directly with clients and occasionally serve as the primary client contact.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team with moderate supervision.
• Competence in planning and delegating the work of others.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including frequent stationary work and movement within office, facility, and other environments; occasional lifting of equipment up to 25 pounds.
