Backend Java Engineer, 6 Month Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kazakhstan.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain backend services and APIs for global products utilizing Java.

• Create high-performance, highly available, and secure backend systems that support BigPay Fiat business operations.

• Enhance the complete service lifecycle from initiation and design to deployment, operation, and improvement.

• Develop and maintain tools while revamping the capacity-planning infrastructure for improved scalability.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues.

• Ensure data security and the integrity of end-to-end system architecture.

• Collaborate and communicate with external stakeholders in Kazakhstan, including banking institutions and government relations.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in software development and architecture.

• Strong proficiency in Java and backend frameworks such as Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.

• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.

• Familiarity with messaging systems like Kafka and RabbitMQ.

• Experience with microservices architecture.

• Comprehensive understanding of Linux and computer networks.

• Experience in profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing machine learning applications.

• Proficiency in English and Kazakh or Russian; knowledge of Kazakh or Russian is essential for coordinating with external business partners and stakeholders in Kazakhstan.

• Experience in Java code development, ideally with Apache open-source project developers.
