Backend Engineer III – Growth

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain scalable services that support Growth Infrastructure projects, including content experimentation and event tracking.

• Create unit, integration, and acceptance tests.

• Engage in architectural discussions and contribute to design proposals.

• Work collaboratively with engineers, PMs, and cross-functional stakeholders across mobile, BI, and marketing.

• Utilize and enhance existing onX services.

• Identify and implement AI workflows to boost efficiency without compromising quality.

• Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation for backend services.

• Report directly to the Growth Infrastructure Engineering Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, primarily focused on API development, is required.

• Ability to embody onX's Company Values.

• Permanent US work authorization is a requirement for employment.

• Willingness to travel quarterly for several days to a corporate office or another strategic onX location.

• Experience with Go or similar backend programming languages is a plus.

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform is advantageous.

• Knowledge of a major cloud platform, preferably Google Cloud Platform, is a bonus.

• Experience with A/B testing or experimentation platforms like Eppo is a bonus.
