Backend Engineer – Go, Endpoint Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and develop Go agents and backend services to ensure endpoint visibility and security enforcement across various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.

• Identify AI applications, local models, browser-based agents, and IDE assistants.

• Monitor how endpoints interact with sensitive files and processes.

• Create backend services focused on managing endpoint fleets, configuration, policy distribution, telemetry ingestion, and health monitoring.

• Enhance endpoint software for minimal resource consumption, reliability, secure updates, and resilience in unstable network environments.

• Collaborate with security researchers to refine detection logic and work with platform teams on telemetry and data pipelines.

• Participate in cross-platform testing, code signing, release engineering, and ensuring production readiness.

• Leverage AI-assisted development workflows for implementation, testing, debugging, and resolving issues.

• Engage in discussions about real-world AI applications, verifying AI outputs, and exploring AI's influence on work during interviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend or systems development.

• At least 3 years of experience building production software in Go.

• Practical OS-level programming skills with processes, file systems, networking stacks, and system APIs on a minimum of two platforms: Windows, macOS, or Linux.

• Solid understanding of concurrency, networking, and performance optimization in Go.

• Familiarity with Python for tooling and testing purposes.

• Experience with gRPC/REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, and familiarity with at least one major cloud service provider.

• Strong testing discipline across various operating systems and environments.

• Proficient in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Comfortable using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similar tools; this is essential.

• Ability to work autonomously in a remote-first, distributed team environment.

• Experience with EDR, endpoint agents, or device-management software.

• Knowledge of eBPF, ETW, Apple's Endpoint Security framework, or other kernel-adjacent technologies.

• Understanding of browser extension internals or IDE plugin ecosystems.

• Prior experience in cybersecurity, security tooling, or trust & safety.

• Experience in implementing AI-assisted or agentic development workflows across engineering teams.
