Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain backend services, RESTful APIs, and integration components for shared services and critical healthcare applications.

• Implement business logic, service orchestration, data access layers, and secure communication between services.

• Create scalable, maintainable, and secure server-side solutions adhering to approved architectures, development standards, and secure coding practices.

• Work collaboratively with frontend developers, architects, QA engineers, DevSecOps teams, and product stakeholders in an Agile delivery environment.

• Engage in technical design, estimation, code reviews, troubleshooting, defect resolution, release activities, and production support.

• Enhance backend service performance, reliability, error handling, monitoring, logging, and observability.

• Support sprint, increment, and release priorities across healthcare applications.

• Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as necessary to promote team objectives and project success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend software engineering or enterprise application development.

• Strong practical experience in developing backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful services, and principles of API development.

• Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, data access layers, and backend data processing patterns.

• Experience with enterprise integration patterns, authentication methods, secure service-to-service communication, Git-based version control, and CI/CD workflows.

• Proficient in debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and code quality skills.

• Knowledge of secure coding practices and best practices in enterprise software development.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, QA, DevSecOps, architecture, and product teams in Agile environments.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Must successfully pass a background check.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including necessary fingerprinting when required.

• Must reside within the continental United States.
