Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage scalable backend systems that provide AI-powered functionalities in a production setting.

• Architect high-performance inference pipelines, orchestration workflows, and service boundaries surrounding machine learning models.

• Take responsibility for system health and observability, which includes performance monitoring, structured logging, alerting, and incident response.

• Enhance system latency and throughput through intelligent caching, request batching, and response streaming strategies.

• Work collaboratively with clients and machine learning engineers to deliver robust, high-efficiency APIs for both mobile and desktop applications.

• Manage the inference and orchestration layer that drives intelligent features across client platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in core backend software engineering within production settings.

• Proficiency in Python and Node.js.

• Familiarity with infrastructure tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Practical experience in building and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency distributed microservices.

• Strong understanding of contemporary AI inference patterns, including LLMs, vector embeddings, and multimodal architectures.

• Hands-on experience with debugging and profiling complex distributed systems under heavy loads.

• Knowledge of commercial AI APIs like OpenAI and Anthropic.

• Experience with self-hosted open-source models.

• Production-oriented mindset with a strong inclination towards shipping, observing live system behaviors, and rapidly iterating.

• Must reside in Europe.
