Backend Developer, Node.js

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain integrations with casino operators and partner platforms, encompassing wallet/transaction APIs, game launches, and reporting contracts.

• Take ownership of the entire integration lifecycle, from contract design through to production monitoring.

• Create robust integration layers featuring retries, idempotency, timeouts, error mapping, and graceful degradation.

• Contribute to essential backend services and platform functionalities, including APIs, messaging flows, data models, and shared modules.

• Engage in slot game development by implementing game mechanics and mathematics in collaboration with the core team.

• Define and enhance integration testing methodologies, which include contract testing, mocking/stubs, end-to-end, and stress/load testing.

• Work closely with Game Logic, Product, and DevOps teams to ensure stable integration contracts.

• Partake in code reviews, make technical decisions, and engage in discussions regarding backend architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5+ years of backend development experience using Node.js and TypeScript, demonstrating ownership of complex systems.

• Demonstrated expertise in designing and maintaining external integrations utilizing REST/HTTP, XML/SOAP, RPC-style, or webhook-based interfaces.

• Strong understanding of modular, service-oriented backend architecture, preferably from enterprise or scale-up settings.

• Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka and event-driven, queue-based design.

• Solid knowledge of contract testing, mocking, end-to-end testing, and stress testing.

• Proficient with PostgreSQL, Redis, CI/CD, Git, and monitoring/observability tools such as Grafana, Loki, and Tempo.

• Comfortable working with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.

• Experience in the iGaming sector, gambling platforms, or RNG/game provider integrations.

• Familiarity with ArgoCD and GitOps workflows.
