This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Create, develop, test, and sustain scalable backend services utilizing Node.js and TypeScript.
• Construct large-scale distributed systems that support enterprise fulfillment platforms.
• Develop cloud-native services that are highly available, resilient, and capable of fault tolerance.
• Design APIs that can manage substantial transaction volumes.
• Make informed technical decisions regarding performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
• Build integrations that are asynchronous and event-driven.
• Deploy containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS.
• Establish CI/CD processes utilizing GitHub Actions and Helm.
• Implement logging, metrics, tracing, and monitoring for production systems.
• Diagnose complex production issues across services and infrastructure.
• Create automated unit, integration, and service-level tests.
• Engage in code and technical design reviews.
• Identify and address technical debt.
• Mentor engineers and advocate for robust engineering practices.
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, and engineering teams.
• Assume operational ownership of applications post-deployment.
• Support enterprise fulfillment platforms and production-ready distributed ecosystems.
• 8–10+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Strong recent experience in Node.js backend development.
• Proficient in TypeScript development.
• Experience in designing and developing large-scale distributed systems.
• Relevant and recent experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Strong expertise in REST API development.
• Familiarity with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with asynchronous and event-driven architectures.
• Deep understanding of scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, idempotency, retry strategies, eventual consistency, service-to-service communication, and failure recovery.
• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested production code.
• Experience in troubleshooting and supporting production applications.
• Comprehensive understanding of reliability, resilience, and observability.
• Ability to make engineering decisions within the framework of established architecture.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
• Comfortable working on W2.
• Preferred: Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, Helm, GitHub Actions, OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, CI/CD, distributed tracing, application performance monitoring, enterprise fulfillment/order processing/logistics/commerce domains, Java, Infrastructure-as-Code, API security, performance engineering, production incident management, and Site Reliability Engineering concepts, as well as automated integration and contract testing.
• W2 employment.
• Hourly pay rate ranging from $55–$60.
