This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and test backend-oriented software components for both cloud-based and web-based applications.
• Architect and enhance backend application and system designs to ensure scalability, reliability, adherence to current standards, and alignment with product roadmaps.
• Collaborate with front-end software engineers to devise solutions, tackle problems, and establish processes and standards.
• Implement software utilizing Agile methodologies.
• Create connectivity and IoT software solutions tailored for fuel management platforms.
• Lead the analysis of requirements and define software architecture.
• Design and optimize software to achieve high performance, high availability, and minimal latency.
• Produce clean, maintainable code accompanied by automated unit tests.
• Conduct peer design and code assessments.
• Present software functionalities to stakeholders.
• Work in collaboration with SQA, Product Service, development partners, and clients to monitor performance and address issues.
• Provide technical guidance through code assessments, design discussions, and the sharing of best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or a suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
• Over 10 years of professional experience in commercial software development.
• Strong expertise in full-stack application development.
• In-depth knowledge of web-based application architecture and redesign.
• Experience with MongoDB, including schema design and query optimization.
• Extensive experience in developing and supporting production systems using NodeJS.
• Familiarity with deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes environments.
• Experience in creating and configuring application infrastructure.
• Expertise in building and supporting solutions on AWS, including SQS, SES, and IAM.
• Strong grasp of unit testing and test-driven development.
• Proficiency in source control systems and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum software development practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to collaborate with engineers, QA, product management, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to mentor and assist less experienced engineers.
• Sound judgment in product and user experience.
• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum software methodologies is essential.
• Ability to develop comprehensive documentation.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and support.
• Required proficiency with source control.
• Capability to troubleshoot and solve problems in an embedded environment is advantageous.
• Experience with secure software development practices is a plus.
• Background in front-end web development is a plus.
