Azure Virtual Desktop – Part-time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, secure, and manage enterprise Windows endpoints that support AI-driven desktop functionalities in regulated, governmental, and Zero Trust settings.

• Oversee and sustain Azure Virtual Desktop and Nerdio Manager for Enterprise, focusing on platform health, automation, autoscaling, permissions, host pools, session hosts, and workspaces.

• Diagnose AVD/Nerdio issues related to provisioning, connectivity, FSLogix profiles, performance, automation tasks, configuration, access, and policy assignments.

• Maintain, patch, test, version, and deploy centralized desktop images across both AVD and physical workstations.

• Enhance Microsoft Intune profiles, compliance policies, security baselines, device groups, assignments, and overall policy architecture.

• Refine Windows Autopilot provisioning, enrollment, deployment profiles, assignments, and zero-touch deployment methodologies.

• Assist with Microsoft Entra ID security and identity functionalities, such as Conditional Access, RBAC, PIM, Just-in-Time administration, Windows LAPS, and least-privilege practices.

• Support endpoint lifecycle operations utilizing Tanium and CrowdStrike Falcon.

• Monitor capacity, utilization, image compliance, service health, incidents, and trends; generate recurring reports and engage in service reviews.

• Aid in the onboarding of agencies or business units into the regulated AVD/Nerdio environment.

• Create SOPs, operational documentation, runbooks, onboarding protocols, governance standards, and technical support materials.

• Implement automation and process enhancements to promote scalability, consistency, efficiency, monitoring, reporting, and desktop lifecycle management.

• Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and administrators during technical reviews, change management, maintenance windows, knowledge transfer, and incident resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.

• An equivalent combination of pertinent technical education, professional certifications, and substantial hands-on enterprise engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Relevant Nerdio Manager for Enterprise / Nerdio certification or proven equivalent enterprise implementation and operational experience is required.

• Relevant Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop / Azure certification or demonstrated equivalent enterprise AVD experience is necessary.

• Relevant Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager certification or proven equivalent enterprise endpoint-management experience is essential.

• Tanium certification corresponding to the assigned engineering responsibilities is required.

• Strong practical experience with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Windows 10/11, Group Policy, application packaging, and Zero Trust endpoint controls is crucial.
