Azure Architect – Managed Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main technical advisor for clients utilizing Microsoft Azure for essential business operations.

• Collaborate with IT executives, architects, and engineering teams to design, enhance, secure, and manage large-scale Azure environments.

• Assist clients in evolving their cloud strategies and operational capabilities.

• Facilitate architecture discussions involving Azure networking, identity, security, governance, and infrastructure services.

• Design and evaluate solutions utilizing Azure Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, VPN connectivity, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, Azure Storage, Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, and other fundamental services.

• Create Azure Landing Zones and governance frameworks applying Management Groups, Azure Policy, and tagging strategies.

• Offer technical leadership for managed customer environments by assessing performance, reliability, security, and cost optimization prospects.

• Advise on the adoption of operational best practices utilizing Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Backup, and Azure Site Recovery.

• Manage intricate troubleshooting, major incident reviews, root cause analyses, and operational enhancement initiatives.

• Provide guidance on Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Conditional Access, PIM, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Zero Trust principles.

• Advocate for Infrastructure as Code and platform engineering practices using Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, PowerShell, and Azure CLI.

• Develop automated deployment and operational processes with Azure DevOps and GitHub.

• Support cloud modernization efforts involving Azure SQL, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure Container Registry, Azure Data Factory, Azure App Service, Event Grid, and Service Bus.

• Perform architecture assessments, Azure Well-Architected Framework evaluations, cloud health reviews, executive briefings, and technical workshops.

• Mentor consultants and engineers while contributing to operational standards, best practices, tools, templates, and runbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, enterprise architecture, or technology consulting.

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft Azure environments.

• Demonstrated experience in architecting enterprise-scale Azure solutions across networking, identity, security, governance, compute, storage, monitoring, and platform services.

• Extensive expertise with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, backup, disaster recovery, and cloud security best practices.

• Experience in designing hybrid-cloud, multi-subscription, multi-region, and highly available architectures utilizing ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, private endpoints, load balancing, and DNS.

• Practical experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, PowerShell, or Azure CLI.

• Strong grasp of cloud operations, monitoring and observability, incident management, root cause analysis, change management, IT service management, and managed services delivery.

• Experience in leading customer-facing architecture engagements and liaising with technical teams, business leaders, and executive stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) is mandatory.

• At least one additional relevant certification is required, such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500).

• US citizenship or Green Card authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.

• Preferred: Experience with Microsoft-focused consulting or systems integration; Azure managed services; Azure Landing Zones; Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework; Azure Well-Architected Framework; Cloud FinOps; Kubernetes; containerized workloads; Microsoft Sentinel; security operations; regulatory or compliance environments; Azure DevOps; GitHub Actions; CI/CD; Azure AI Foundry infrastructure; ITIL and ITSM platforms.

• Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400), Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100), or Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300).
