Azure AI Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist in the implementation of AI-first software development methodologies within the project team.

• Utilize AI coding agents and AI-enhanced development platforms in everyday product engineering tasks.

• Employ AI tools for solution design, implementation, automated testing, debugging, troubleshooting, refactoring, code reviews, and technical documentation.

• Design, develop, test, and sustain scalable, serverless, cloud-native SaaS functionalities utilizing C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure.

• Engage with Azure Functions, Microsoft Graph API, Azure Data Explorer, Cosmos DB, AKS, Azure Container Apps, and Event Hubs.

• Design, develop, test, and sustain cloud-native SaaS functionalities using Python/TypeScript and AWS.

• Collaborate with EKS, DynamoDB, S3, and Lambda Functions.

• Participate in architecture, technical decision-making, code reviews, CI/CD practices, release readiness, and accountability for essential product components.

• Operate within an Agile SCRUM framework.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of a computer science undergraduate degree or comparable practical experience.

• A minimum of five years of professional software development experience.

• Strong practical experience in C#/.NET and Python.

• Proven professional experience utilizing AI coding agents, AI-assisted development tools, or agentic development workflows as a significant element of real software development tasks.

• Advanced hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Windsurf, or similar AI-driven development platforms.

• Capability to design reusable prompts, agent instructions, development workflows, validation steps, and safeguards for responsible AI-assisted software development.

• Experience in applying AI coding tools to enhance software design, implementation efficiency, code quality, automated testing, debugging, troubleshooting, refactoring, code review, or technical documentation.

• Familiarity with building Azure cloud applications utilizing event-driven, service-oriented, or microservice architectures.

• Experience in creating scalable backend services and distributed systems.

• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, SOLID principles, secure development, automated testing, continuous integration, debugging, and maintainable software architecture.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, technical leadership, and the ability to collaborate effectively within an Agile team environment.

• Nice to have: Experience with YAML CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Terraform, or similar systems.

• Nice to have: Experience with Azure OpenAI Service, large language model APIs, evaluation frameworks, observability, or AI application security.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with Angular or React and TypeScript.

• Nice to have: Experience with PySpark (Python + Spark).
