Azure Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +19 more states.

📋 Description

• Configure and oversee Azure virtual networks, subnets, and security groups.

• Administer Azure virtual machines, scale sets, and availability zones.

• Implement and manage Blob, File, and Disk storage solutions.

• Supervise Azure SQL and on-premises SQL integrations, including provisioning, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.

• Manage Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), identities, roles, and access permissions.

• Implement Azure Security Center and Defender for Cloud for compliance, vulnerability assessments, and threat monitoring.

• Configure role-based access control, conditional access, and multi-factor authentication.

• Automate provisioning and management tasks using PowerShell and Azure CLI.

• Support infrastructure-as-code deployments utilizing ARM templates and Terraform.

• Monitor system health and performance using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and alerts.

• Optimize cloud expenses through right-sizing and automation strategies.

• Collaborate with the System Architect on Azure infrastructure design, implementations, and configurations.

• Partner with application, data, and security teams across development, testing, and production environments.

• Coordinate with vendors and external partners for data exchange, SFTP, and API integrations.

• Provide Tier-2/3 support for Azure incidents and escalations.

• Plan and implement new Azure services and infrastructure improvements.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• A minimum of five (5+) years of experience in cloud administration.

• At least three (3+) years managing Azure infrastructure in enterprise environments.

• Experience in configuring, maintaining, and securing Azure VMs, VNets, and storage.

• Strong working knowledge of PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform, and ARM Templates.

• Experience managing Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), conditional access, and role-based identity policies.

• Familiarity with SQL Server and Azure SQL administration.

• Experience with SFTP, data exchange processes, and cloud/on-premises system integrations.

• Proficiency in Azure Compute, Network, Storage, Security, Monitor, and Defender services.

• Knowledge of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.

• Understanding of Azure AD (Entra ID), RBAC, Conditional Access, and MFA.

• Knowledge of Azure SQL, SQL Server, as well as backup and recovery management.

• A proactive approach to optimization, automation, and performance enhancement.

• Demonstrated accountability, reliability, and ownership.

• Ability to meet specified physical requirements, including standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, walking, climbing, fine motor skills, visual and auditory processing, communication, and cognitive abilities.
