Aviation Management Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee airline and space-tenant programs across SFO

• Establish strategy, policy, and operational guidance for the allocation and optimization of terminal, gate, and facility space

• Ensure tenant adherence to lease obligations, Airport Rules and Regulations, and relevant policies

• Manage intricate lease negotiations, landlord relations, and property management functions

• Create and execute tenant space programs that align facility design, leasing requirements, operational needs, and stakeholder priorities

• Supervise the Airport Space Request System and define space-allocation priorities and business processes

• Drive aviation and land-use business development opportunities along with revenue-generating initiatives

• Negotiate the acquisition of properties necessary for aviation use in collaboration with City stakeholders

• Formulate and manage right-of-way agreements, permits, and related property contracts

• Provide guidance to executive management on commercial agreements, property utilization, Airport development, and revenue-generation strategies

• Oversee operations for public and employee parking

• Lead, develop, mentor, and manage direct reports, including conducting performance reviews and addressing performance issues

• Administer policies, procedures, compliance, and governance related to space utilization and allocation

• Execute additional responsibilities as specified in the 0941 Manager VI job classification

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

• Four years of managerial experience in a supervisory role

• Four years of infrastructure management experience in a large organization

• Relevant experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis for up to two years

• A Master’s degree may substitute for up to one year of the required experience

• Must meet minimum qualifications by the final filing date

• Must successfully complete FBI fingerprinting, a criminal history record check, and TSA Security Threat Assessment

• Must be prepared to undergo drug/alcohol screening if necessary

• Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a U.S. Customs Access Seal for unescorted access to the SFO U.S. Customs Security Area

• Experience in negotiating airline-airport lease and use agreements

• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities

• Capable of collaborating with a diverse range of audiences and stakeholders
