This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate the skills of Design Leads and technical personnel.
• Set performance expectations and accountability measures for design teams.
• Facilitate staff development, promote technical growth, and implement succession planning.
• Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining design staff.
• Oversee daily personnel administration of direct reports, including timekeeping, expense approvals, performance evaluations, and employee development.
• Coordinate and balance workloads among Design Leads and technical teams.
• Allocate design resources according to project requirements, capabilities, and development goals.
• Monitor utilization and address any workload imbalances.
• Anticipate staffing needs and identify resource constraints in collaboration with Project Managers.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance design standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Ensure adherence to CAD, BIM, engineering, and design standards.
• Lead the implementation of technical tools, templates, and standardized processes.
• Act as the technical authority for design execution and delivery practices.
• Own and uphold the design quality control program.
• Establish and enforce QC review processes and documentation requirements.
• Conduct audits of project deliverables and ensure milestone design reviews are completed.
• Track quality metrics, lessons learned, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on project execution while providing technical oversight on complex or high-risk projects.
• Resolve technical issues and design conflicts.
• Support proposal development, staffing plans, and strategies for project execution.
• Ensure that deliverables meet client requirements, contractual obligations, and regulatory standards.
