Director, UX and Product Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the overall UI/UX architecture and product design strategy across the product range.

• Create information architecture, navigation frameworks, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity product designs.

• Convert complex user requirements, workflows, and product specifications into intuitive, effective, and engaging user experiences.

• Perform user research, usability tests, and customer discovery to guide product decisions, value propositions, and specification requirements.

• Contribute to product strategy with proposals that are based on user evidence, customer needs, and product insights.

• Ensure alignment between product experiences and user workflows to enhance adoption, engagement, retention, and business growth.

• Spot opportunities for enhancing usability, discoverability, consistency, and overall product quality.

• Establish and refine processes for design reviews, UX critiques, prototyping, user validation, and design decision-making.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Science, Commercial, Product, and Engineering teams from product definition to implementation.

• Work alongside Brand, Marketing, Scientific/Content, and other creative teams where product and brand experiences intersect.

• Collaborate with Engineering to create and uphold a scalable design system, including reusable components, interaction patterns, and UX principles.

• Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor UI/UX and product design professionals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in product design, UX design and architecture, interaction design, or related fields, with substantial experience in designing B2B or B2X digital products.

• Experience in designing enterprise, scientific, technical, analytical, data-intensive, or workflow-oriented software or related products catering to specialized professional or technical users.

• Strong expertise with contemporary product design methodologies and tools, including prototyping platforms and emerging AI-enabled design and prototyping tools.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly express and justify design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• BS, MS, or advanced degree in Design, Engineering, Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
