This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Install, service, maintain, and repair automatic doors in line with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
• Plan and execute installation projects, ensuring systems are properly fitted and fully operational.
• Conduct site surveys and evaluate installation requirements.
• Undertake scheduled servicing and routine maintenance.
• Maintain detailed service records, documenting repairs, adjustments, and recommendations.
• Identify and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Respond to reactive service calls and emergency repair requests, minimizing customer downtime.
• Offer temporary solutions or replacements as needed to ensure security until permanent repairs can be made.
• Communicate directly with customers, providing professional advice on maintenance, repairs, and system operation.
• Offer customers guidance and training on the proper use and maintenance of installed systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure that all work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
• Keep current with automatic door technologies and relevant industry requirements.
• Attend pertinent training and industry events to further develop technical expertise.
• Demonstrated experience in installing, servicing, and repairing automatic doors – essential.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with various automatic door manufacturers and models.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Capability to work independently and effectively manage your own workload.
• Full UK driving license.
• Experience with gates, bollards, and/or shutters is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Relevant electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications or training are advantageous but not required.
• EN16005 certification is a plus but not essential.
• Experience with automatic doors is crucial.
• Willingness to work 45 hours per week and participate in a 1 in 8 on-call rota.
• Overtime compensated at 1.5x for hours exceeding 45 Monday–Friday.
• Saturday overtime compensated at 1.5x.
• Sunday and Bank Holiday overtime compensated at 2x.
• 1 in 8 on-call rota - £250 rota cover payment.
• Additional out-of-hours quoted works payments ranging from £50–£100, based on job duration.
• 25 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
