This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Conduct physical inspections and evaluations of vehicle damage resulting from accidents, severe weather, and other insured incidents through both virtual and on-site assessments.
• Review repair estimates and perform virtual evaluations in collaboration with repair facilities.
• Utilize industry-standard estimating software to prepare repair estimates.
• Assess actual cash value and negotiate settlements for total vehicle losses using market research, comparable vehicle analysis, and valuation tools.
• Engage in negotiations regarding repair costs and settlements with body shops, clients, and third-party claimants.
• Identify and document any pre-existing damage, prior repairs, and potential indicators of fraud.
• Collaborate with claims representatives, body shops, and vendors to facilitate repairs and address any issues that arise.
• Clarify the appraisal process, respond to inquiries, and keep vehicle owners updated on their claims.
• Adjust to new technology implementations, system upgrades, and the rollout of AI-driven digital tools.
• Act as a technical resource for auto claims personnel and provide guidance on claim damages to claims professionals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Active adjuster license, if applicable.
• Minimum of two years experience in auto physical damage appraisal.
• Proficient in claims management and estimating software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and various enterprise technology systems and platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Strong judgment and effective decision-making skills.
• Outstanding customer service abilities.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Capacity to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Proven conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to manage stress while maintaining composure and professionalism under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of insurance principles, terminology, state insurance regulations, and claims handling requirements.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least one year of experience in auto physical damage appraisal or relevant claim-related experience, or successful completion of the Travelers Claim Representative training program.
• A valid driver's license.
