This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Submit initial authorization requests to designated payers utilizing paper forms, printed documentation, fax, payer portals, or alternative methods.
• Follow up on requests to guarantee a prompt turnaround and approval.
• Comprehend payer requirements to secure approval.
• Escalate problematic accounts and ensure they are resolved.
• Maintain consistent communication with patients, insurance providers, physician offices, sales representatives, and other personnel.
• Submit authorization requests to insurance payers for Home Infusion Therapy.
• Oversee follow-up on pending authorizations.
• Review authorization approvals and denials for accuracy and initiate the appeal process as needed.
• Document calls, faxes, and email communications in CPR+ in accordance with department SOP.
• Keep records of both approved and denied authorizations in patients’ charts.
• Share insurance updates and correspondence with management and team members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Intake Manager.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a medical office, patient contact, and related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• A background in Medical Reimbursement is preferred.
• Experience with submission of authorizations.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
• Knowledge of insurance plan requirements, medical terminology, government regulations, and coding.
• Capability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
