This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.
• Oversee the daily operations of the department and implement strategies that enhance service delivery, departmental objectives, KPIs, and ongoing improvement.
• Track workflows, deadlines, service standards, and team performance through dashboards and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with leadership to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and profitability targets.
• Evaluate revenue, productivity, utilization, realization, margin, turnaround time, and capacity metrics.
• Supervise revenue forecasts, scheduling discrepancies, and budget-to-actual analyses.
• Ensure alignment of pipeline, budgets, billing rates, staffing, and scheduling with anticipated demand and revenue objectives.
• Guide and mentor assigned team members by establishing expectations, managing workloads and priorities, and fostering accountability.
• Distribute tasks efficiently, address performance deficiencies, and implement corrective action plans.
• Create staffing plans and contrast budgeted staffing requirements with actual capacity.
• Collaborate with leadership and People Operations regarding employee relations, performance issues, coaching needs, and team dynamics.
• Facilitate quality assurance and adherence to firm service standards, quality management protocols, and legal, regulatory, and professional obligations.
• Work with department and firm stakeholders to resolve issues, enhance coordination, and implement initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Operations Management, or a similar field.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in public accounting, practice operations, professional services operations, or a comparable leadership position.
• Experience in a public accounting firm is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in budgeting, KPI reporting, resource allocation, workflow management, and operational decision-making in professional services.
• Proven experience collaborating cross-functionally with firm leadership, People Operations, Finance, Resource Management, Client Success, and other internal stakeholders.
• Familiarity with practice management, project management, time management, workflow, reporting, or comparable operational systems.
• History of leading process improvements, technology integration, automation, or AI-driven workflow projects.
• Specific technical knowledge or experience might be necessary for Tax, Assurance, Client Accounting Services, or other consulting and advisory services.
• CPA or another relevant professional certification is preferred.
• Experience collaborating with Client Success and other client-facing leadership roles is preferred.
