Audio Engineer – Speech, TTS Audio Specialist – French

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Edit and process French voice recordings intended for TTS and speech AI systems.

• Conduct audio cleanup tasks, which include trimming silence, reducing or removing breaths, de-clicking, de-essing, and minimizing noise.

• Execute quality assurance assessments to check for clipping, distortion, background noise, artifacts, loudness consistency, and level balancing.

• Ensure that audio adheres to technical requirements for machine-learning training pipelines.

• Assess the accuracy, naturalness, and fluency of French pronunciation.

• Process large volumes of recordings while ensuring consistency and maintaining throughput.

• Collaborate on French speech datasets, voice talent recordings, and workflows for model training.

• Assist in projects focused on training and enhancing AI systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in French.

• Experience in editing speech or voice recordings, rather than solely music production.

• Strong comprehension of speech audio quality standards and common issues found in recorded dialogue.

• Practical experience with iZotope RX, Pro Tools, or comparable audio restoration software.

• Capability to identify and rectify audio artifacts, inconsistencies, and technical flaws.

• Experience handling high-volume audio datasets or managing structured workflows.

• Detail-oriented with excellent critical listening skills in French.

• Comfortable executing repetitive, high-precision tasks on a large scale.

• Ability to effectively balance speed and quality in production settings.

• Familiarity with the nuances of human French speech compared to synthetic voice requirements.

• Engagement as an independent contractor.

• Not able to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates.
