This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide strategic and daily leadership for the Wholesale Processing organization.
• Guide leaders and production team members while setting expectations for service, productivity, quality, communication, ownership, and accountability.
• Develop strong relationships with Sales leaders and broker partners, acting as an operational extension of Sales.
• Establish standards for partner communication, service, urgency, accountability, quality, and compliance.
• Monitor pipeline health, aging, turnaround times, workload, productivity, service levels, quality, capacity, and operational KPIs.
• Utilize data and reporting to identify trends, risks, capacity issues, root causes, and areas for improvement.
• Ensure that files are thoroughly reviewed, documented, and prepared prior to submission to Underwriting.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Quality Control, Compliance, Credit, Training, Technology, Closing, and other Operations teams.
• Resolve intricate loan issues, Sales and broker escalations, exception requests, and client-service concerns.
• Conduct root-cause analysis, process improvement, workflow simplification, automation, and technology enhancements.
• Mentor and develop Processing leaders and team members; support training, performance management, succession planning, and career development.
• Create staffing and capacity plans, align resources, supervise departmental expenses, and manage staffing costs.
• Ensure Processing practices comply with regulatory, agency, investor, and company requirements.
• Convey priorities, expectations, and business updates throughout the organization.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mortgage banking or mortgage operations.
• Significant leadership experience in Processing, Account Management, Wholesale Operations, or a related mortgage Operations function.
• Wholesale mortgage experience is highly preferred.
• Proven experience leading both leaders and production team members in a fast-paced mortgage environment.
• Strong understanding of the mortgage loan lifecycle and the collaboration between Sales, Processing, Underwriting, Closing, Funding, and other Operations functions to close loans.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, OTC, DSCR, Renovation, and other relevant mortgage products.
• Familiarity with agency and investor requirements.
• Knowledge of applicable mortgage regulations and internal controls.
• Ability to balance service, business needs, risk, policy, and compliance when addressing complex loan scenarios.
• Strong client-service orientation with a proven track record of supporting Sales teams and external business partners.
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with broker partners, Sales leaders, team members, and executives.
• Capacity to navigate complex loan scenarios, escalations, exceptions, and client-service matters.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage operational performance through metrics related to productivity, turnaround times, quality, pipeline management, service levels, and capacity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to translate data and trends into actionable operational strategies.
• Proven ability to identify root causes, enhance processes, reduce cycle times, and implement sustainable improvements.
• Strong leadership and talent development skills.
• Experience in coaching, performance management, accountability, training, and succession planning.
• Ability to cultivate leaders and build high-performing teams.
• Ability to set clear expectations while fostering a positive, solutions-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with mortgage Loan Origination Systems such as Encompass.
• Experience with workflow technology, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms.
• Ability to leverage technology and automation to enhance operational efficiency and improve the partner experience.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in the mortgage industry is preferred.
