Associate Vice President, Accountable Care Organizations – ACO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the executive responsible for the overall performance of shared savings under the CMS ACO LEAD model.

• Assess spending trends in relation to historical data and market performance.

• Identify factors contributing to underperformance and spearhead initiatives to reduce avoidable utilization.

• Strategically implement and deploy solutions for population health management, risk stratification, actuarial modeling, patient engagement, care gap closure, HCC coding, and targeted cost management.

• Enhance panel attribution, risk adjustment, and quality performance across ACO participant groups.

• Execute workflow modifications through effective change management within participant groups.

• Develop a streamlined team while actively participating as a player-coach within participant groups.

• Propel performance in collaboration with clinical, operational, and executive teams.

• Oversee ACO administrative operations, including compliance, data management, go-to-market strategies, and partnerships with clinical teams.

• Supervise regulatory functions, governance frameworks, and reporting obligations related to CMS ACO LEAD.

• Assess and establish contracts with potential participant groups.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of progressive leadership experience in value-based care.

• A minimum of 5 years of direct management experience in ACO operations within MSSP and/or REACH.

• Proven experience in building, scaling, and operationalizing an early-stage or newly launched ACO network with quantifiable success in generating shared savings amid significant downside risk.

• Demonstrated success in guiding less experienced practices through the operational, clinical, and cultural transitions necessary for thriving in two-sided risk arrangements.

• Practical experience in scaling an early-stage ACO, developing provider networks, and creating operational execution frameworks from the ground up.

• Extensive regulatory knowledge of federal ACO programs (MSSP, ACO REACH, or ACO LEAD).

• Experience in overseeing entity governance, reporting, and compliance in conjunction with centralized support teams.

• Strong analytical and operational skills for converting complex claims, clinical, and financial data into actionable plans.

• Self-motivated with a proactive approach and a strong sense of accountability within intricate organizational structures.

• High executive presence combined with a player-coach mentality.

• Availability to travel approximately 40% across the Pacific Northwest.
