Associate Vice President, Accountable Care Organizations – ACO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the executive responsible for the overall shared savings outcomes under the CMS ACO LEAD framework.

• Examine spending patterns compared to historical data and market performance, pinpoint drivers of underperformance, and spearhead initiatives to reduce avoidable utilization.

• Strategically implement and deploy solutions for population health management, risk stratification, actuarial modeling, patient engagement, care gap closure, HCC coding, and targeted cost management.

• Enhance panel attribution, risk adjustment, and quality performance across ACO participant groups and within them.

• Operationalize workflow modifications to participant clinic operations and care models through effective change management in participant groups.

• Build a streamlined team while serving as a player-coach integrated within participant groups.

• Propel performance in collaboration with clinical, operational, and executive teams.

• Oversee ACO administrative functions and coordinate compliance, data management, go-to-market strategies, and clinical partner teams.

• Supervise CMS ACO LEAD regulatory responsibilities, federal compliance, governance frameworks, and reporting obligations.

• Assess and establish contracts with potential participant groups.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of progressive leadership experience in value-based care.

• Minimum of 5 years of direct management experience in ACO operations within MSSP and/or REACH.

• Proven experience in building, scaling, and operationalizing an early-stage or newly launched ACO network, demonstrating measurable success in generating shared savings amidst significant downside risk.

• Successful track record guiding inexperienced practices through the operational, clinical, and cultural transitions necessary to thrive in two-sided risk arrangements.

• Practical experience in scaling an early-stage ACO, constructing provider networks, and developing operational execution frameworks from the ground up.

• Extensive regulatory expertise in federal ACO programs (MSSP, ACO REACH, or ACO LEAD).

• Experience in overseeing entity governance, reporting, and compliance in conjunction with centralized support teams.

• Strong analytical and operational skills to convert complex claims, clinical, and financial data into actionable strategies.

• A self-starter with a proactive approach and disciplined self-accountability within intricate organizational structures.

• High executive presence complemented by a player-coach mentality.

• Willingness to travel approximately 40% throughout the Pacific Northwest.
