This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the lead technical reviewer for HUD, Accessibility, and Agency Services reports.
• Review, modify, and finalize technical assessment reports while providing constructive feedback to assessors.
• Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes for HUD and Accessibility deliverables.
• Initiate continuous improvement efforts to minimize report production and revision times while enhancing throughput.
• Assess and enhance report writing, technical review, and revision procedures.
• Collaborate with Operations, Technology, and Technical leadership on automation, template improvements, AI-assisted workflows, and other production tools.
• Create and maintain standardized report templates, technical guidance documents, checklists, and quality control protocols.
• Act as the primary technical resource for HUD and Accessibility reporting.
• Work alongside project managers, assessors, reviewers, clients, and Sales to address technical inquiries and explore affordable housing opportunities.
• Assess technical complexity, capacity, turnaround expectations, travel needs, jurisdictional requirements, effort, delivery risk, pricing, and execution strategies.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive state-by-state market intelligence concerning agency requirements, delivery performance, resources, costs, and profitability.
• Facilitate the technical development of assessors and reviewers through report evaluations, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
• Occasionally participate in local field assessments or site inspections.
• Analyze report deficiencies, revision patterns, and quality metrics, implementing corrective measures as needed.
• Coordinate technical reviews to adhere to schedules, quality standards, and turnaround commitments.
• Keep up-to-date with HUD requirements, Accessibility standards, Capital Needs Assessment methodologies, relevant building codes, and industry best practices.
• Assist in client communications and manage multiple technical reviews, quality initiatives, process improvement projects, and technical assignments concurrently.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Building Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
• A minimum of 5–10 years of progressively responsible experience in conducting property condition assessments, capital needs assessments, physical needs assessments, or related due diligence consulting services.
• Direct experience with assignments for HUD or other affordable housing lending and financing programs is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with LIHTC transactions and the requirements of state housing finance agencies, public housing authorities, lenders, syndicators, developers, or similar affordable housing stakeholders is preferred.
• Proven experience in evaluating multifamily residential properties and producing technical assessment reports.
• Strong understanding of building systems, construction practices, deferred maintenance evaluation, and capital planning methodologies.
• Capability to manage multiple projects at once while ensuring high-quality deliverables and client service standards are met.
• Excellent written communication, technical writing, and organizational abilities.
• Willingness and ability to travel for property inspections as necessary.
• Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), Certified Reserve Specialist (CRS), or similar professional certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in environmental due diligence, property condition assessments, facility condition assessments, or related consulting fields is advantageous.
• Bonus eligibility; total compensation may exceed base salary based on individual performance.
