Associate, Scoring Service

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assess the responses of California teacher candidates to test questions.

• Master the established scoring standards.

• Engage in discussions and collaborate with fellow scorers during consensus scoring sessions.

• Identify and address implicit biases such as cultural, leniency, central tendency, and halo-effect biases.

• Implement techniques to minimize personal biases in the scoring process.

• Fulfill quality and productivity standards set by the scoring program.

• Complete any necessary training and brief orientation before participating in scoring sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess a Teaching Credential in California relevant to the content area, have a minimum of three years of teaching experience, and be actively teaching or have taught within the past three years in California; or meet one of the specified alternative qualifications.

• May qualify as an instructor at a California institution of higher education who has instructed corresponding content-field classes within the last three years.

• May qualify by having previously served as a scorer for the Single Subject Assessments for Teaching in the relevant content area.

• May qualify through ongoing experience as a scorer after fulfilling a listed qualification.

• May qualify with authorization to teach in California public schools in the relevant content area and current residency in California.

• May qualify with a graduate degree in the relevant content area and current residency in California.

• May qualify with a bachelor's degree and significant professional experience in the relevant content area along with current residency in California.

• May qualify with a bachelor's and/or master's degree while being a graduate student currently instructing content-field courses in California.

• May qualify as a CTC-approved member of the relevant CSET test development and/or standard setting panel and a current resident of California.

• May qualify as a CTC-approved scorer.

• Must be a California resident with authorization to work in the United States.

• Possess essential computer skills, including proficiency with the keyboard and mouse.

• Capability to sit for prolonged periods.

• Ability to maintain a confidential work environment.

• Must successfully pass a qualifying test prior to scoring.
